Most single-family homes in the metro are torn off and re-roofed in one to three days on site. Larger or steeper roofs, tile, and standing-seam metal take longer. Weather moves schedules, and we tell you the moment it does rather than leaving you guessing.

WILL MY INSURANCE PAY FOR A NEW ROOF?

If the damage came from a covered event like wind or hail, often yes. We document the damage with dated drone and close-up photos and give you a claim file your adjuster can actually read. We do not inflate scopes and we do not promise an outcome your policy does not cover.

WHAT DOES GAF CERTIFICATION ACTUALLY MEAN?

It is a factory certification held by roughly the top 2% of roofing contractors in North America, and it requires proof of licensing, insurance and ongoing training. Practically, it means we can register manufacturer system warranties that a non-certified contractor cannot offer you.

CAN YOU JUST ADD A LAYER OVER MY EXISTING SHINGLES?

We do not recommend it and we generally will not do it. Layering hides rotten decking and failed flashing, adds weight, shortens the life of the new shingles and can void the manufacturer warranty. A full tear-off costs more up front and less over the life of the roof.

WHAT IS FORTIFIED AND IS IT WORTH IT?

FORTIFIED is an IBHS construction standard for sealed decks, enhanced nailing and better edge detailing. In Louisiana it can qualify you for an insurance discount, and it measurably improves the odds your roof survives a named storm. We will tell you what the upgrade costs on your specific roof.

HOW SOON CAN YOU START ONCE I APPROVE THE SCOPE?

Usually within one to three weeks depending on material lead times and the weather window. Emergency work moves faster. You get a start date in writing, and if weather moves it we tell you the day it moves rather than leaving you wondering.

We tear off to the deck, replace any rotten sheathing we find, install synthetic underlayment and ice-and-water at the vulnerable details, and nail to the manufacturer high-wind pattern.

Before any of that, we fly the roof, measure it digitally, and hand you one written scope with one number on it. No mystery line items, no price that moves after the contract is signed.

Synthetic underlayment across the field, ice-and-water at valleys and penetrations, and new metal at walls, chimneys, pipe boots and step flashing.

02 FULL TEAR-OFF TO THE DECK

Old shingles and underlayment come off completely. Layering over a failing roof hides the problems that cause the next leak.

05 VENTILATION & SHINGLE INSTALL

Ridge and intake ventilation balanced to the attic volume, then shingles installed to the manufacturer high-wind nailing pattern.

03 DECK REPAIR & RE-NAIL

Rotten or delaminated sheathing is replaced and the deck re-nailed to current code — the step that decides whether the roof stays on in a storm.

WHY ROOFS FAIL EARLY AROUND HERE

We see the same four failures across the metro, and none of them are the shingle wearing out. They are installation and detail failures that show up the first time a real storm tests them.

Nailing patterns that meet the minimum instead of the high-wind spec — the single biggest reason shingles leave in a named storm.

Old decking nailed on 8-inch centers and never re-nailed, so the whole assembly is only as strong as 1960s framing practice.
